North Jersey: A woman’s journey through NJ’s drug courts (24 min)

July 19, 2018:

North Jersey details how drug courts in Passaic County, NJ have helped Amanda Zita overcome her addictions to OxyContin and heroin. Drug courts have become more common in the US and abroad in previous decades, and generally they are a successful alternative to incarceration. However, the costs are high, and many don’t offer all the services that may be necessary, including services to deal with trauma. Zita, like many others, dealt with relapse in her path to recovery and had to face past trauma before she could graduate and move forward. You can read more about her story here.
